How the Paper Shredder WorksThe process of using a paper shredder is very easy. You insert a reasonable amount of paper (depending on the individual machine’s capacity) into the designated slot. The paper shredder then automatically takes the content and proceeds to be feed on though, thus shredding your paper. After the paper is feed though a wastebasket collects the shredding. Almost all paper shredders come complete with a waste basket, if not the inside of the machine indicates a spot where a waste bag may be used to collect the shredding, this is all determined on the size of the machine being used and the cost. If a heavy-duty shredder is purchased it is okay to put staples and paper clicks through the shredder and the machine won’t be harmed. After a while of use the paper shredder will build up paper dust, the dust will clog and slow down your paper shredder it may even stop it completely. It is very important that you purchase fine oil to lubricate your machine with; such products like 3 in 1 oil or mystery oil can be used. If you purchased a top of the line paper shredder it may have come equip with an Automatic Lubricating System. Usually all paper shredders are continually running, so it is important for the owner to check the photo eye to see if there is a buildup on the eye, if so gently clean off the dust. If cleaning the eye does not correct any problem the machine is having, then you may need to purchase a kit to fix the problem. The eye is located in the middle of the shoot where the paper goes to be shredded.
